Hi, kendo

I used Kendo Ui for Vue.

I found a problem in multiSelect.
You can enter the link - https://www.telerik.com/kendo-vue-ui/components/dropdowns/multiselect
This is demo page for multiSelect provide by kendo.

After chrome update for 133.0.6943.99 since 12 feb 2025, If you click on the item, an error occurs.

click "Cricket"
Then, moved next image

I think there is a error in default tag-render.
Because when I used tag-render (include your demo page for MultiSelect used tag-render),
the error no longer occurs.

Please check tag-render in multiSelect
My pages can't use the multiSelect now...

And, I use multiSelect in v4.1.1, it was fixed, windows OS

Hi, fingate,

I tried to replicate the behavior from the provided image but to no avail. Below you can see a video from my test - can you take a look at it and see whether I am not leaving any step out?

Looking forward to your reply!

Vessy

Hi, Vessy. Thanks to reply.

I watched your video. You exactly tried to do the actions same as me.
But the result was different. I'll show you my action and results.

You can see the link provided by kendo on video.
When I Click the item, I can see the error page.
But I could use multiSelect using tag-render.

So, I think there are errors default-render.
This errors happen not only to the official link but also to my products.

As you know,  I'm using multiSelect in v4.1.1, it's fixed, windows OS.
After chrome update for 133.0.6943.99 since 12 feb 2025, an error occurs.
(my co-worker could watch it since 11 feb 2025, so I think after chrome update for 133.0.6943.97, Windows OS)

Looking forward to your reply! Thanks Vessy.

Hi, fingate,

Thanks a lot for the provided additional details. Version 4.1.1 of Vue was released almost 2,5 years ago (on 28 December 2023) and there was no way for us to provide support for a Chrome version released in 2025 in it. In general, each Kendo UI for Vue version supports the current version of Chrome.

As providing a fix for an older is not possible I am afraid that the only solution we can suggest you for this case is to upgrade to the latest version of the MultiSelect which is compatible with the current version of Chrome.

Hi, Vessy.

As your comments, I can fix the error on my products by changing the version. (I don't change not yet)
Changing the version can have a lot of impact on my products, So need a lot of check.
But I'll try that, Thanks Vessy.

But As you know, I did the actions on public page using latest version, then an error occurs. I don't understand it.
I wonder that why an error occurs on public page, https://www.telerik.com/kendo-vue-ui/components/dropdowns/multiselect.
At least, I should be able to use multi-select on the public page, but I can't.
I want the answer I can use the multi-select on your page, for a lot of test.

Looking forward to your reply!

Hi fingate and Vessy,

I am using the latest Kendo Vue UI version (6.1.0) and have users reporting the same issue as fingate. The control works for me 95%+ of the time, but it consistently crashes the page for some users. My site went live internally about a month ago, and the first report of this incident occurred yesterday (2/24). What version you use doesn't seem to change the problem.

Just wanted to chip in to maybe help resolve this issue as someone who is already using the latest Kendo Vue UI version.

Hi, guys,

Thank you for the continuous update on this issue.

We tested the reported behavior further on different machines and after a further investigation  it turned out to be a browser specific behavior not only related to the latest Chrome, but also reproducible only in Mac M1 and specific versions of Windows. We saw that there are several crash-related bugs already logged in the Chrome backlog and believe that they will be handled soon, but we also decided to log a bug in our backlog and research if we can handle it internally sooner. You can track the progress we make on this item here:

Hi, guys,

While working on this issue, our developers tested the latest developer version of Chrome (Canary 135.0.7037.0) in which the crash is not reproducible anymore so it seems that Chrome has already taken care of this browser bug. Can you, please, test this version at your end as well and see whether it fixes the problem at your end as well
