Dear all,

I have a report viewer which output report properly when viewed in computer. However, when I export to word document. Some text box is not fully extened, I need to pull the textbox border in order to show the content. And textbox is not aligned with other textbox like what is in computer view. The alignment problem also exist when I export to PDF. How can I fix it? Thanks.

Hi Alex,

The DOCX exported document gets paginated by the Word processor. The PDF format is a physical format with pagination based on the PageSettings of the report. The Interactive view mode in the Report Viewer displays the report with soft paging - see Interactive vs. Print Layout. These differences probably explain some of the observed discrepancies.

There are also specifics in the different rendering formats. For example, the Word rendering exports the entire report as nested tables, which implies certain limitations. You may see the article Word Rendering Design Considerations for details. For the generated PDF documents you may check PDF Rendering Design Considerations.

I don't expect misaligned items in the above formats though. Which Telerik Reporting version do you use? Can you send us a runnable report that demonstrates the issue for local investigation?
