I'm new to automation. I have iOS and Android apps with react native components. Can I use Test Studio mobile to test my app?

Hi Anshika,

Thank you for your interest in Test Studio.

Using ReactNative components you build an Android or iOS native application. This allows you to configure the respective applications to be testable with Test Studio Mobile. For Android native application you can follow the directions listed here, and respectively for iOS native app - here. Please take your time to give this a try and let me know if you face any difficulties.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Hi Elena,

Thanks for the response.

I'm able to successfully run and test iOS app. But when I am running my iOS app with react components, I'm facing an issue.
I've followed the same steps as : https://docs.telerik.com/teststudio/test-studio-mobile/native-applications/configure-your-app/configure-ios

Once I click the record button, the agent app is disconnected and my iOS app is launched. But soon it gives the error - "Recorder: Command to message server timed out" and the app crashes.
What could be going wrong? I've attached the screenshot of the same.

Hello Anshika,

Thanks for sharing details on the trouble you have encountered.

Similar issues may be faced if something went wrong while configuring the application. Therefore, I would like to ask for some details from the process you have gone through. This said, can you please collect the below listed screenshots and send these for further analysis?
- the info.plist file for the duplicate testing application (point 5. in the Duplicate target section of the configuration article)
- the referenced libraries in the project (point 7. in the Add Extension section of the configuration article)
- the URL Scheme value you have entered to be used as an App identifier (point 1. in the Add URL Type section of the configuration article). Please note, you need to use any of the listed there names, in case you deploy the app to an iOS 9+ device.

We can also explore the application configuration on our end, if you share its sample project or the Android file to configure. That way we can find out what components are used in the application and test the same on our end. Still, please have in mind that this is a public forum thread in which all details about the case are visible and broadly accessible, so you might want to consider what to share here.

I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks  in advance for your cooperation.

Regards,
