PPT export format

Hi Team,

Does Telerik have an option to export/download the report file in PowerPoint presentation format and allow our end users to edit before sending across the ppt?

Hello Preetam,

As long as the required dependencies are installed, Telerik Reporting can export reports to OpenXML formats, such as PPTX, XLSX, and DOCX.
Keep in mind the PowerPoint Rendering Design Considerations when exporting to PPTX.

That said, you mentioned you need to edit the presentation file before sending it. Do you use the Send Mail Message functionality of the report viewers to send the reports? The available functionality does not provide an option to edit the generated documents before sending them, so you may need to build a custom implementation for this.

Thank you for your response. We need the PPT format to be editable. By custom implementation do you mean that it would be like a new feature implementation from Telerik support team? If so, please advise us on the time involved for the process, the packages we need to install from our end and if there is any cost involved

We don't have such features in our roadmap for this year. Feel free to log a feature request for the same in our public feedback portal. This will let other users vote for it and increase its priority, so our managers to consider it.

Meanwhile, you may consider your custom implementation for PPTX document editing following the report rendering.

Note that we provide a Feature Acceleration Program letting our users negotiate faster and customized feature implementation for an additional fee. If you are interested, I will put you in contact with the Professional Services team leading this program.

Would be interested in the Feature Acceleration Program please let us know on further steps. Please advise us on the timeline of the delivery preferable to have it soon as we have a release this Friday and would require it as a part of the release. I have also put in a request in your online forum as suggested. But would prefer a quick approach to this feature as mentioned.

What do you need to be editable in the generated PPTX file? How it should be edited by the user?

Can you give an example? For example, with a PPTX file already exported with Telerik Reporting, and how it should be edited before being sent?
