For my project we have purchased Telerik UI for Windows 8 XAML and HTML Professional Developer License with Subscription and
Priority Support.
The confirmation mail says it is 1 developer seat. What is the usage scope in this case?
The below link says purchase limit is unlimited.
http://www.telerik.com/purchase/individual-windows-8.aspx
What is the difference between purchase limit license and developer seat?.
Now can we install the software in multiple machines to execute our project? Please confirm.
Thanks

One developer license grants 1 developer the right to use our software tools in design-time.
The limits on the hobbyist & small business licenses just mean, that we do not sell more that 1-3 licenses to a company of that type as these licenses are targeted at hobbyists and small businesses. That you can purchase unlimited UI for Windows 8Professional HTML+XAML licenses, simply means that we do not enforce any restriction on the number of licenses you can purchase.
If you have a team of 20 developers who needs to use our controls it will require that you purchase 20 licenses of UI for Windows 8 Professional HTML+XAML. However we do not have license keys and do no enforce any restrictions on the number of machines on which the UI components can be installed e.g. if a single developer has 5 laptops nothing prevents him from downloading the UI components on all machines (at no additional cost).
In short:
* You need a UI for Windows 8 Professional HTML+XAML license for each developer using the controls design time.
* You can buy as many UI for Windows 8 Professional HTML+XAML licenses as you please.
So my answer is yes, I can confirm that you can install the software in multiple machines at no additional cost as long as you have a license for each developer using the UI in design time.

Build cross-platform mobile apps using Visual Studio and .NET. Register for the online webinar on 03/27/2014, 11:00AM US ET.. Seats are limited.

In that case I need to buy only one developer seat. Will this be correct from a licensing perspective?
Currently we have bought one developer seat. And after that only we got confused with the licensing terms. We need to answer the client on this since we charged him only for one developer seat. Now we have to go back and tell we need to purchase as many licenses as the no.of team members. In next one year we are hoping to ramp up the team size to 30. So this will mean purchasing 30 licenses and charge client for 30*1000$. !!!
Can you please make it clear on how we should go about this? Please confirm on these at the earliest.
Thanks ,

Thank you for your additional inquiry.
If your additional developers are not using the tools to manipulate the project and they are not building the project commercially, they do not require a license. The references can be within the project that they are working on, but the whoever is actually building the project would need to be licensed. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Check out the Telerik Platform - the only platform that combines a rich set of UI tools with powerful cloud services to develop web, hybrid and native mobile apps.

Can this "1 developer" be a different person for different projects or technologies? In our company we frequently work on multiple customer projects at the same time with different teams, often using different technologies.
If one project uses technology A (e.g. UI for WPF) and another project uses technology B (e.g. UI for iOS), and in each project only one developer uses the components at design time like described above, but the person is not the same across projects - how many DevCraft licenses do we need?
Project A (WPF)
- Developer 1 (uses UI for WPF)
- Developer 2 (doesn't use the components)
Project B (iOs)
- Developer 3 (uses UI for iOS)
In each project, and for each technology, there's only one person using the components at a given time - they just happen to be different persons. Do we need one or two licenses?
Thank you for reaching out.
In the scenario you have described, you would need two licenses of Devcraft Complete or one of UI for WPF and one of UI for iOS. I have copied your regional account representative on this ticket. Feel free to reach out to them directly with any additional licensing questions you might have.

Hi Kyle,
I have a similar question for the story is a little different.
If we work on two projects, but one of them has no upgrade requirements anymore, meaning we don't upgrade any Telerik controls.
and we have a new project who wants to use Telerik controls. Do we need to have one or two developer seats?
Project A (WPF)
Developer 1 (uses UI for WPF, but no development requirements anymore)
Project B (iOs)
Developer 2 (uses UI for iOS)
Thanks
I apologize for the extreme delay. Given the explanation you have provided, you would need two developer licenses to be in compliance with our EULA. Please let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Hi Kyle,
Actually I see the post above from Roman (posted at July 9 2015), the case is similar to mine, on the project 1, one of the developers is not working on the Telerik component. so they only need one seat for another developer.
But in my case why do I need two seats?
I apologize for the delay in my response. I guess I slightly misread your description of Project A:
Project A (WPF)
Developer 1 (uses UI for WPF, (but no development requirements anymore)
If the developer is not accessing the source code of the Telerik tools, they do not need to be licensed, but if they are accessing the source for UI for WPF during development, they do need to be licensed.
I hope this helps clear things up, but please let me know if you have any follow up questions.
