We have a bunch of Multi-Column reports (labels), that our customers are asking us to Page Break based on certian criteria in the data set. We are doing that, but what our customer is asking, that the page break is a true page break, in that the page break starts physically on a new page, not in a new column. Is there a way to set this up. I have been looking at different settings to do this, but I just can seem to achieve this desired behavior.
Yes, our customers understand that this will increase the WASTE of labels, but this is what they are asking for.
TIA.
Hello,
If the report is made multi-column using the built-in functionality - Multi-Column Reports at a Glance - Telerik Reporting, it is indeed not possible to insert "true" page breaks. The reason for that is that any column on a physical page is considered a logical page. Thus, whenever there are multiple columns on the physical page, if you apply a page break on a report section in a multi-column layout, the section affected by the page break will move to the next column (logical page).
The only workaround would be create the multi-column layout via grouping rules, you may see the Creating Multi-Column Report - Across the Page and Then Down - Telerik Reporting KB article for more details but please keep in mind that this approach requires a special setup(mentioned in the article).
