It appears something has either changed with Fiddler or Symantec.  I have several users who were on an older release of Fiddler and we also upgraded our endpoint protection from SEP 14 MP2 to RU1 MP1.  Since then, Symantec will prevent the install of any new Fiddler install/upgrade.  The old version of Fiddler still works (4.6.2.32002).  Any ideas?

Hi,

You have several machines with Fiddler v4.6.2.32002 and Fiddler is working properly on those machines. After the update to the new Symantec you cannot install nor update those Fiddler installations to the newest one. Did I understand your use case correctly?

Would you elaborate some more on this - "prevent the install of any new Fiddler install/upgrade"? Did you try downloading Fiddler and installing it from the official website? Does Fiddler finds the new versions automatically when started (also is the "Notify me for updates on startup" setting on in Tools -> Options)? Or Fiddler successfully starts the update process, but it gets interrupted by Symantec (if yes with what message)?

Alexander
