Hello,
@Ken
Unfortunately we couldn't make JustCode play nice with the other similar add-ins. Just like JustCode they modify some parts of Visual Studio and having several add-ins doing similar modifications to the same part of VS... just doesn't work well. If we had decided to not provide these EITHER / OR choices we would have just left you with having an awful Visual Studio experience.
We haven't prepared any feature comparison matrix for now but should you have any requests for features, we would love to hear your feedback.
@abdu
- Fast solution-wide analysis for all supported languages (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, XAML).
- JavaScript support.
- Code analysis engine working as a separate process (outside Visual Studio) so that you don't need to apply some "unpopular" practices for avoiding OutOfMemoryExceptions.
- other (we'll need some time to work on the feature matrix which Ken requested).
Thank you for the feedback and for giving JustCode a try. We appreciate it and I hope that in the next few months we'll be able to implement most of the things you miss now in JustCode.
Best wishes,
Chris

I think it's a good idea to move in this direction, even if coexistence ultimately arrives in a later release. Over the years our team has invested resources to ensure CodeRush and ReSharper (and other third-party dev tools) are able to coexist simultaneously inside Visual Studio. I want to offer the Just Code team access to the same resources we've given those other teams. The 3rd-party productivity tools ecosystem is stronger when all tools coexist peacefully, so I think it makes sense for all of us to work together. If there's something our team can do to help Just Code coexist with CodeRush or CodeRush Xpress, we're definitely interested in making those changes. Chris, you or anyone on the Just Code team can contact me via email at markm at the devexpress dot com domain, and we can talk about what's blocking you and how we can resolve it.

We will publish the comparison matrix on our site some time soon.
JustCode and Resharper can happily coexist on the same machine but you cannot have both of them enabled in Visual Studio for the same reasons you can't have DxCore and JustCode at the same time.
Eventually we are gonna end up supporting the other popular tools on the market. That, however, is going to take some time and effort on our side and will be an ongoing process as the tools evolve.

By accident when looking at JustCode, I've either stumbled across a solution to get it working simultaneously with DxCore, or just got lucky this time around.
In the Add-in Manager I have both DxCore and JustCode enabled, but only JustCode set for Startup.
Initially....
I did completely disable DxCore and restart with only JustCode enabled and startup ticked. Then enabled DxCore without startup and restarted.
No Either/Or selection dialog and all DxCore commands execute along with all JustCode features.

I used ReSharper for many years (from ReSharper 1.0). Also I was test Coderush for a few weeks.
I think Telerik JustCode team must release Plugin API as soon as possible that make JustCode grow faster.

Thanks for letting us know. We could not reproduce your actions exactly but we found a similar way to have both products enabled.
As expected based on our previous tests they don't co-exist really happily. I assume you also had some issues starting from the weird UI and going through various exceptions and crashes. Being aware of this we tried to make it explicitly impossible to have both products running at the same time so that the users don't have bad experience and we don't get spurious support requests. So in effect you din't find a solution to run JustCode and DxCore simultaneously. You found a flaw in our safeguard that's supposed to prevent this from happening as right now they don't run well simultaneously.
Eventually we'll test and tweak JustCode so that it works fine together with the other popular products but currently that's not at the top of our immediate priorities list.

I didn't think it was suppose to be possible to run together. I hadn't pushed it when I posted initially so had yet to experience any real issues.
Anyways great product. Look forward to future enhancements.

Do you want to have your say when we set our development plans? Do you want to know when a feature you care about is added or when a bug fixed? Explore the Telerik Public Issue Tracking system and vote to affect the priority of the items.

is there an update on getting the various programs working together?
Richard
Rather unfortunately, no real work has started on that issue yet. We are still focused more on polishing our functionality. Compatibility is on our list, though, so there will be an update at some point. Please, stay tuned.

Thank you for following up. I'm sorry for the late response. Actually we have created Feature Matrix table and Comparison table between JustCode and Visual Studio. Unfortunately we don't consider making comparison table between JustCode and our competitors.
Hope this helps and we'd love to hear from you again.

Now I like Coderush, and I won a copy of JustCode when it was in beta. It's true that JustCode didn't offer all the features, but with every release it got better and better. And I believe today it would be my choice of productivity tools. Currently I have R# at work and I can't figure out what the hype about it is. The UI pales compared to JustCode and CodeRush.

I have tried most options over the years ...
I started off with Visual Assist X , which I was very please with . I got the R# bug after about 3 years and have been R# since then v5 and now v6. I was never sure and still maintain my VAX license.
R# has a pretty comprehensive suite of functionality but I do suspect you pay for it in perfomance , I have been using it some VB ASP projects which are pretty big and the IDE slows to a snails pace. It seems to "Process Files" a lot . The problem is I switch it of and I miss the Intellesence boost , hence my post in this forum. I think Just Code would be a real winner if it could address this shortfall.
VAX is a much less "funcioned" product but does appear to be much more responsive in the IDE, "Small is beautiful ?"
The IDE visuals from both VAX and Just Code are much less obtrusive that R# , I think its important to have a tool that works for you and is there when you want to use it , not to be forced into seeing its abilities . Refactor and R# are both a bit guilty of this and I really hated the "flying arrows" and Big Hints of Code Rush/ Refactor
I had a spell of VAX + Just Code together , as VAX is a bit weak on Refactoring , and that worked well , i was not aware of any clash between these 2. The VAX Intellesence is also very good
The bit I like about Just Code is that they are not sitting on their laurels and are constantly improving and adding , the performance "in the background" and the overall positive impact on the IDE responsiveness is probably highest on most developers mind, and currently R# is stuggling to fix that in V6 especially around certain windows.
The matrix is a good idea , and does show just how much functionality you have .

I don't know what aspect of the UI you mention here. All the arrows and animations in CodeRush was a turn off for me. Some people who like R# including myself prefer the non intrusive UI.
