Is it possible to turn off or override the automatic "linking" of a url?
I need the user to type in http://telerik.com and have it displayed as text, not have it automatically changed into a http://telerik.com link.
thanks

The linking is disabled by default if you check out the Default Settings Demo. Perhaps you have taken out the URL manager toolbar and therefore the URLs are being formatted automatically?

unfortunately in IE it's not disabled, I managed to trace the stack and I see that on key 32 press down (space bar) there's verification if a link is present in the body of the text, although it's not a great workaround I've done on key up of 32, remove any links.. (what was just added).
I'm trying to sort out a better way to do it, but at present I haven't come up with any.

Hello,
Unfortunately, this is an IE browser feature and we have no control over it. The browser's rich text engine will automatically create links if you write www.example.com or http://example.com. The link can be removed right away if you press backspace. For example - type "www.example.com" and press space. The browser will create a link from the text. Now press backspace and the link will be removed, but the cursor will still be at the same position so you can continue typing.
Sincerely yours,
