Here is the answer I got from out legal department:
Icons displayed in the examples may not be used/reused at all by our Licensees.
Icons and other resources provided in the core product may not be used outside of the Telerik components.
Is the customer allowed to
• Use an icon from some Telerik control in another Telerik control? – Yes provided the customer has obtained licenses to both Telerik products.
• Use an icon from some Telerik control in another third party control? - No
• Use an icon from some Telerik control in a site that does not use any Telerik controls? – No
In addition, our icons are not distributed as stand alone product. Some of them are Visual Studio 2010 icons, which you can find here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\VS2010ImageLibrary\1033\VS2010ImageLibrary.zip. The rest are our icons for which the aforementioned legal statement applies.
I hope that the provided information addresses your question. Let me know if you need additional information regarding this matter.
Regards,
Stefan

On your roadmap you specify "Icon Set" as a planned available item. The last statements here seem to conflict. Will this ever be a reality?

We did have the icon set planned indeed, however, due to some issues we were unable to deliver it. The work is still in progress and we aim for delivery with the Q1 2016 release.
I hope that you find this information useful. Should you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Do you have news about icons?
I need it as part of a development of a WPF application.
Some of your competitors offer indeed a library of icons.

We had plans to introduce such a icons set, but for now, this task is postponed and I cannot provide you with information whether or when such library will be introduced. We are following the requests and in future, we may consider introducing such.
Still, we will appreciate if you share what kind of icons you would find useful from such package.
I hope you find this useful.

Stefan
