Hi. Is it possible to use the r.a.d. reporting tool to generate Avery labels that users can export to MS Word? These labels are available in MS Word under Tools > Letters and Mailings > Envelopes and Labels > Options. This would be a very useful and handy tool to have, if it's not already available.

Yes, Alex, it is possible to create labels with the Reporting tool, however you will have to create the layout yourself for now. We do not have such a template at this time.
We plan to offers templates and wizards, but in future versions of the reporting tool, and one of the template will be labels and mailing lists, which will rearrange themselves depending on the paper size (similar Word). Hopefully, we will have these in v2 of the reporting tool.

Hey Rob,
Did you guys ever do any more work with using the Reporting tools to create labels? I am faced with the challenge of generating mailing labels directly from my ASP.net project. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lisa,
Up until now Telerik Reporting does not provide any tools dedicated for designing label reports. Anyway we have plans to extend the Report Wizard to allow the users to choose from a preset list of available formats and create custom format though.

Hey Padmasree,
The lastest version allows you to print off labels. The only thing is that since it uses columns you won't be able to see the three (or whatever your label prints) columns until you export it to a PDF. Maybe somone from Telerik can provide more on this.

Hello Lisa,
As noted in our "Design Considerations for HTML Rendering" help topic - Columns and ColumnSpacing properties are ignored during HTML rendering. You need to use a page oriented export like pdf, like you've already figured out.
