Just wanted to get feedback from developer community in choosing either the Library for User control (ASP.net Ajax) or (MVC & Kendo UI)

Just was trying to see what would be ideal path if I was doing fresh new  development

Wanted to get User feedback how these two different libraries behave for Web/Tablet/Mobile platform

if there is any meaningful advantage of one over the other

Which one of the two libraries is easier to customize for emerging display tech

I would suggest the answer to your question boils down to what your target customer will be using.  I use both suites myself.  I find the Asp.Net Ajax suite the simplest to use.  It seems, to me, to be the most robust and has pretty much a control for anything you could think of.  The MVC/Kendo route is not second nature to me yet.  I am trying to use it on all new projects.  It seems to handle changes required by portable devices easier.  I.E., if your target environment is 100% browser based then ASP.NET Ajax is pretty much a no-brainier..  If your target includes portable tablets and phones then MVC/Kendo is your ideal tool set.

While you did not ask this, my 2 cents is that the ASP.NET Ajax route is vastly easier to interface to the Telerik Report System.  While the MVC route also interfaces, it seems to require more code and changes in methods.  Again, it is a learning process.

Thank you I was curious about the mobile / tablet aspects as well but I was planning to use bootstrap with Asp.net Ajax library but that is why I started to investigate the item a bit further

On the product description there was information stated that the controls in Asp.net Ajax library have also been optimized for different devices so I was curious the library controls would work with bootstrap etc

But thank you for share

I admit I have seen the configuration options on the ASP.NET/Ajax controls however my experience with the Kendo/MVC suggests it is a better solution.  I work for a local government and provide solutions that are used in day to day operations.  We are starting to provide citizen facing solutions as well.

As a real world scenario for you.  Our water department had a web based application they used when performing water meter services throughout our city.  That application was ASP.NET/Ajax based and we had constant problems with compatibility issues with browser versions to deal with.  A redesign of the application into pure Html5 and Kendo allowed us to adopt a more diverse set of tools.  They now carry tablets and phones rather than laptops.  The technicians love it.  The same application is now universal between browser or mobile devices.  No more compatibility issues to mess with.

You mentioned bootstrap.  My 2 cents is that Kendo is bootstrap + a ton of extras.  I.E., bootstrap is included in your Kendo setup.  You can write bootstrap code if you desire or blend the best of worlds using both Kendo and bootstrap.    That of course is purely my opinion.  My apologies to those purists out there.  Please do not flame me!
